Create a parked/alias domain

What is a Parked / Alias Domain

Parked / alias domains are often used by businesses that want to have more than one web address for advertising purposes. Alias domains are additional domains hosted on your account which display the same website content as your primary domain. For example, if you own domain1.com.au and it is the primary domain of your Entity Data cPanel account, you can set up domain2.com.au as a parked domain and it will load the content of domain1.com.au. When you visit domain2.com.au in the browser, you will notice that although the content of domain1.com.au is loading in the browser, the address bar will display http://domain2.com.au/.

Create a Parked Domain

  1. Log into your cPanel Hosting Account.
  2. In the Domains section, click the Aliases icon.
  3. Under Create a New Alias, enter the domain name you would like to park on top of your primary domain.
  4. Click Add Domain.

Remove a Parked Domain

  1. Log into your cPanel Hosting Account.
  2. In the Domains section, click the Aliases icon.
  3. Under Remove Aliases, find the domain you wish to remove.
  4. In the Actions column for that domain, click Remove.

Create DNS A Record

If your DNS is hosted elsewhere you will need to create an A record for the Parked Domain pointing to the IP address of your Entity Data hosting plan. You also have the option of delegating your domain to the name servers of your Entity Data hosting plan (a DNS zone will have automatically been creating after adding the Parked / Alias Domain).
